Gackt does look feminine. He's even more feminine than Squall is. Search images at google to see why.
And besides, I'm sure Gackt won't appear as Gackt in DoC. Maybe the character is just someone they modelled him after. But after they made FFX-2, I'm starting to find it less surprising that any single thing to do with J-Pop can be put into an FF game. (Please, someone shoot Tetsuya Nomura. I'm j/k)...

My guess is they're just modelling the character after him. Just like they modelled the Onimusha 2 protagonist. Don't know if he'll be doing the motion capture as well.

Well, this is the weirdest thing I had to hear today . Anyway, while he doesn't ruin the thing it's OK for me. So, I'll have to wait for 2006 Christmas for this game. If it is for waiting ..

Okay, that does it, some one seriously shoot Tetsuya Nomura now. I don't really like that Nomura is assimilating too much J-Pop culture into Final Fantasies. Back when I played FF7 and 8, it was alright. But after I played 9 and found out about all the previous ones, I started to dis-prefer futuristic-modern settings. And then FFX-2 came out and included what was probably one of the most annoying in-game music (the themes and a few songs were nice tough) ever. The game wasn't bad, but I started to have doubts for the future path FF will take. I mean, it's pretty obvious after 12, FF13 will be done by Kitase, Nomura n co again and I'm hoping that they don't include too much J-Pop.

Ugh, I read about this before... It's so unfair, you know? WHY GACKT!!!!! The most evil wannabe-Squall feminine gaylord... Sorry, but he really is a pain in the ass... literally I bet as well ... Ok ok, I'll knock it off. Anyways, Nomura, why oh why?! I thought you learned from KH that singers like Hikaru are way better....

QUOTE(Katya @ Nov 4 2005, 09:12 PM) QUOTE(Sabin @ Nov 4 2005, 09:46 AM) Nomrua admitted that Squall was modelled after Gackt.
Are you sure about that? From what i know, Namura said that Squall's design was more influenced by River Phoenix. Yea, you're right. He did state that Squall was designed after River Phoenix. I mean, if you can't see that you're blind... Gackt was only claiming they did. Why? Because Gackt was wearing the same jacket as Squall, so he must have been modelled after him! (arrogance, cougcough...)

(arrogance, cougcough...) QUOTE Squall is a young man with medium-length, brown hair and grey eyes (he is rumoured to be visually based on Japanese singer Gackt, but character designer Tetsuya Nomura has also stated that actor River Phoenix was also an influence on the character). A small scar runs diagonally across the bridge of his nose; he received it at the beginning of the game in a training duel against his rival Seifer Almasy, and left Seifer with a similar (mirror-image) scar in return. I guess it's a mix of both.
