The only really tangible thing you get for beating the Earth Tyrant is a negligible amount of gold next time you talk to Montblanc and easy access between the Estersand and the Westersand. If you do it early enough in the game it also gets you access to the North Bank of the Nebra and the Mosphoran Highwaste (along with the Salikawood and it's associated horrors beyond) before you would otherwise be able to.
