My first FF fan art :
The next one would be Shiva, from FF X.
Pretty. You always put so much detail into your work.
I'm looking forward to seeing your Shiva.
Very pretty colours!
Is it watercolours?
Thanks for the comments...
Ultima is colored with soft pastels and pastel pencils (for details), and a bit of golden and coppered pencil (jewels, dress' patterns...).
The background is painted with watercolor.
The pic is a little blurry because I took it with my cell... The work's size is 65 cm x 50 cm.
I know I'm a bit late, but I just noticed this, Ana. Ultima is really beautiful and detailed. I always knew you were artistic, but WOW! Great work, can't wait to see Shiva!
I just finished http://membres.lycos.fr/planetescifi/finalfantasy/FanArtPerso/Fanart_Shiva.jpg
Watercolor pencil, and watercolor.
The next : maybe Shiva again (just a portrait), or Mateus.
try doing bahumet
bet you, you cant
^ I'm sure Ana would do an excellent job with Bahamut. Don't be a dick.
Gorgeous work, Ana. Can't wait for Shiva.
Mateus! Mateus! please ! ^^'
I'm jealous of your colourisation!!! I love the way you did that job! =')
I've began to draw Mateus !
The problem with Bahamut, errrr... I don't have a lot of models and he's rather complex. You speak about Bahamut of FFX ?
yes and i cant wait for mateus
Here's my last fan art
I finished it this afternoon !
You've done well. I liked it.
I definatly do not have the patience to go into that much detail. Way to go! But some of it could use some work. Like....some of the details look a little akwardly out of proportion and including a backround...even if it is subtle could help tons. I am not talking about just a pale blue wash or something. But add some sort of subtle movement or something. I feel like some of your colors could use work too.
But the detail is very nice
Aw, Ana, don't hate me for replying so late in your topic. . .I just realized you'd added 2 new drawings.
I love them both, you have such an eye for detail. I'd love to see these actual drawings, and not just the photo you've taken, because I'm sure they look even more detailed. Shiva is my favorite Aeon, and she looks absolutely perfect here. I love her pose. Although Shiva is my favorite Aeon, I think you've done an even better job on Mateus. This looks as good as the art in the official guide, honestly. You just keep getting better and better, Ana. Keep posting, I love them!
wow. just. wow.
I love the mixing of color pencils and watercolors it's a really nice effect. <3 I've used them together before and it was so difficult! You really are talented, ana. ^^ I hate to sound so pushy yet, if you do any more please post them. =D
Thanks for the comments !
And GRG2, it' okay ! I don't surf a lot on this forum at the moment ! ;)
I love the details on the Mateus one!
Are the drawings done in watercolours? Great work
Mateus is done with pastel pencils, pastel (for veils) and watercolour (background).
The next one should be finished as soon !
I finished a new fan art this afternoon...
With watercolour, and a little of watercolour pencil, and coppered and golden pencil.
I looked at them all, really beautiful work! I love the colouring and soft feel to them
^ thats a really lovely drawing of shiva
U have great watercolour skills!
I just left the same natured comment on Ringos recent thread. Hahaha...but it would defenatly be better for you to stray from what you see in the game and do a different sort of portrait, maybe make your own rendition of Shiva (one not in the games). Basically what you are doing, to me, says that you can look at a picture and draw what you see. While that is fine and dandy, it would be a better exersize to use your creativity to the fullest.
As for technique goes; lines are stale and boring in some places. I am not digging the nearly monochromatic blue. If you are going to use blue...mix in some other colors for some sort of temperature variation. It is a very cold painting, but most things have varations of warmer colors and cooler colors (even if it is Shiva). If you want to stick to the monochrome...add contrast with darker colors and that hair is a beast...I suggest you spend more time on it.
And something I learned from countless classes in this. Never use white like that. You are layering it on top of stuff that is already there. Have patience and leave the white of the paper...it is a lot more pleasing and professional looking.
I know this amazing watercolor artist, he does really good work with using lights in watercolor. And his hair is very good too. Take some pointers from his artwork His name is Steve Hanks...and he is amazing http://www.artifactsgallery.com/art.asp?%21=A&ID=640
The Pictures are wonderful!!!
Your a very talented artist
Thanks for comments !
Burrgle > thanks for advices (althought I'm not sure to understand all of them, my English skills are quite basics).
In fact I paint with a drawing teacher's advices. I go to a art school.
And what you see here is not the real picture. It's a photo, I took it with my cell phone, then the quality is rather faded.
I go to school for art too. And I too paint with advice from countless profs.
Feel free to ask me questions about my advice if you do not understand, I love to give advice. And feel free to argue with me too!
Oh, you know, I'm rather shy. For me it's difficult to argue !
No please...I encourage it....lets argue.
^ U should be a critic. I think u'll be good
Eh...that or a lawyer...been my strong point...argueing. Fits well...I am a Jew -headdesk-
