Sorry, thought you guys would amazin.com search it tongue.gif It's by Marion Zimmer Bradley.

It's a VERY long book but worth the read. Also, if you are gonna check outt the book, watch the movie version as well. It's pretty cool!

I don't have a specific genre that I like but I do tend to get caught up in stories where the protagonist turns out to have very questionable sanity.

I like to read novels with a great amount of character depth (and not just the main character), but fantasy novels are generally lacking in that department since the writers of said genre emphasise other plot elements.

Much of what I like is non-fiction, but I really enjoy historical fiction, and admit I have a soft spot for historical fiction romance novels. I like sci-fi and fantasy too.

^I also love non-fiction literature. Biographical books such as The Motorcycle Diaries are a great read. I also like reading about ancient history such as the Romans, the Greeks, the Egyptians etc. Philosophical texts such as Sophie's World are also amazing, if you can manage to find one that suits you.

Bandy, have you read the Memoirs of Cleopatra? Its by Margaret George. It's long but pretty historically accurate. It's labeled under historical fiction since it is also a story. I suggest checking it out!

Nope, I can't say that I have heard of it before. I've read some material from the Cleopatra period, but not enough xD

Cheers, I'll check it out sometime.

I'm a fan of novels, too. Right now, my favorite author is Maeve Binchy. I just love her style. And she is incredibly descriptive, so you feel like you are right there. Maeve is Irish, so the majority of her books (but not all) take place in Ireland. I've always wanted to go there, so I feel like a take a quick trip with every page I turn. smile.gif

I have a hard time narrowing my choice to just one "genre", because I like so many. I love basic fiction, romance, horror, historical, and I also enjoy reading some non-fiction. I like some short stories, in particular, Binchy's short stories. Her books London Transports, Dublin 4, This Year it Will Be Different, and Return Journey are all compliations of short stories. If you are a short story fan, these are must-reads (in particular, "This Year it Will Be Different".) I like her full-length novels better, though! My fave full-length novels by Binchy are "Circle of Friends" and "Evening Class".

I havenít been reading many books that I like due to school required reading and textbook reading. x_X' I'm a big fantasy and mystery reader. I like to read intriguing and controversial things. I'm kind of picky when it comes to picking out books. If I donít like the style of the authorís writing I wonít pick it up.

Im into Fantasy, authors like Darren Shan, Rowling, Philip Pullman, Terry Pratchett, Tolkien. I also read a Series of Unfortunate Events as a kid and enjoyed the Edge Chronicles and reading Enid Blyton. Ive recently been reading the Mahabarath, which I consider as fantasy (although many Hindus do not) which is awesome. I like detective books, especially Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot. I also sometimes read more realistic fiction such as Les Miserables. I like non-fiction as well but I dont read it so much.

^Im sure Ive missed some stuff out.

I do a lot of reading I guess. Although not so much in recent times.

I have a fascination of old literature. It's just so much more interesting than the new stuff for some reason. I would much rather read something like a Dickens novel than most new stuff.

I'm quite whimsical when it comes to reading, and I have different favourites at different times. But mythology and historical books have always caught my fancy. There are times when I was really into fiction books by Jeffrey Archer and Sidney Sheldon, then there's the time where I would only read Ursula Le Guin and Dan Simmons, but my current new interest is reading non-fiction books about the medieval period in Europe.

I don't read a lot unsure.gif, I've difficulties to concentrate on reading, even though I like the story. Then I read very slowly...

My favorite types are fantasy, science-fiction, fantastic.

I especially like a lot LOTR (Tolkien) and Dune (Frank Herbert). I tried to read The Silmarillon, but it's complex ! And about Dune, I read only Dune I and Dune II, Dune Messiah, and Children of Dune. I thought this saga quite touching.
