Wow, a hidden talent that I haven't seen from shyman before. I like your use of imagery, abstract ideas, and states of emotion/feeling. Your poems are very vibrant, and each one has a unique blend of structure and story. I enjoyed reading them. The sheer amount of poem's you've posted so far shows your creativity and imagination.

Keep it up shyman wink.gif

Well, I guess sometimes alcohol can bring something more than headaches and bad feelings.

Here goes another one

Purple Space

Sometimes we use to think
Night travelling may hide the answers
Beneath colourful blinding lights
And smiling brown bottles

Some smiles and silly jokes
Tales about our glorious past
Politics, ideas and revolutions
Flow through a purple night

A maze of liquid inherence
Fill our glasses, alter our minds
Increase our initial reluctant speed
Through the sober highway
Taking us high, making us fall

Then in the end those lost souls
Who wander in the purple space
With bottles and glasses in their hands
A simply conventional goal they crave for
To find their twins, to find the answers

So true. laugh.gif
Again, a great choice of words and imagery; I actually feel drunk right now. tongue.gif

This one is probably the most difficult one I've ever writen, since many ideas were flowing at the same time, and sometimes I had difficulty finding the appropiate words, given as well that English is not my native language. I would also like to dedicate this one to the people who come here, since many of them are also mentioned here as well

Ode to a fantasy

Multiplied blessings out in the air
Reminding us about our despair
Run after it, it is going to leave
Promiselands and butterflies
Kingdoms and fairytales
Our nature keeps on spawning

Yesterday we met an elf
He told us a story from the past
About dragons and magicians
About a young boy with a scar
About a little being who carried a ring
About a boy and a blue dragon

The crowd smiled with joy
A small group of explorers
Dreamt of an imaginary adventure
They showed colorful features
And partake in epic tales
Though mundane they seemed to them

There was an smiling girl
Surrounded by fierce red curls
Who was head over heels
With a boy beyond the sea
There was a Pirate King
Who raised the spirit of the masses
Who laughed at the sun
In his hand a bottle of rum
There was a bohemian thinker
Fated to be a doctor
Who talked about psychedelic dreams
There was an armoured mischievous lord
Hidden behind the smile of a cactus
Oh man! That's a given!
There was a little sweet poet
Who the crowd often called 'lady'
There was a smooth and caring soul
Flying like a lonely dove
And who brought wonders and colours
In form of breezy landscapes
There were noisy blond kids
Searching for the rainbow
There were aloof bringers of poison
Which was told to affect our nerves
There was a Queen dressed in black
Who was known to be mighty
There was a boy who came from the ice
And shared his love with everyone
There was a dreamy smiling girl
Whose ancestors came from the East
There was an aura who traveled in silence,
There was a girl who made games part of her life
There were princesses, valentines, cows
And many other special and unique creatures
And there was a King
And with K his name began with
Who gathered the group of explorers
To live their own adventure
And hidden amongst them
There was a circumspect man
Who once had shyness as a flag
And who send through the wires
Some words of thought
Some words of love
Some word of hope
Some words of peace
And some words of joy

Lighthouse

Traitors would become heroes
In a land of obscured reality
Perception leads to eternity
Focusing in our troubled ideas

Walking in empty roads
Escaping from slumber
Denials of our emotions
Nights have never dared to be

Lust is a provoking temptress
Many men she has ruined
Sensuality is her little sister
Many couples she has blessed

Searching entangled in darkness
For a lighthouse called Woman
This humble haunted vessel
Has traveled with the waves

Triumph is the muse of a captain
Leadership is the dream of a stern
Coincidence is the key for our freedom
Let our compass draw the way

I liked them both in different ways. I like "Ode to a fantasy" because of its originality and its light-heartedness (a better word fits there but I can't think of one).
The second one has an intriguing allure, with some paragraphs that I can't quite lay my finger on plus the fact that it is very well written overall.

Keep up the great work. smile.gif

Wow...just wow. Those are amazing poems, the language you use in them is so emotional and great..I wish I could write like that. I like them all..I mean when I read them it just makes everything magical and I get abosorbed in the poem, VERY nice work.

Tomorrow

Who would have ever thought
A human heart could ever feel so strong
A passionate driver behind the wheel
Shouting at the Sun
Singing to the Moon

A smith could run though a rainforest
Looking for the tree girl
A sailor could get lost in the Sea
Looking for the siren of his dreams
An elegant Earl of Transilvania
Could lose his novelty for a vampiress

Tears sometimes reveal a river
Forsaken for the jeweler
Coincidence is not a stranger
Luck is the keywielder
To find all of the answers
For questions in a night melody

Could you ever find more solace
Lost in your lover lips
Sheltered from the rain
Escaping from the pain
Crawling into motion
Tomorrow is what I seek

The Sun and The Moon will tell
An epic and glorious tale
About a smith of wooden heart
About a sailor of salty dreams
And about a lonely man behind the wheel

Army of Spirits

Constant whistling goes through my memories
Of distant echoing storms
Solemn drums of war are coming
An army of mighty spirits is rising

Hope is the first general
Capable of driving forces
Desire is next to her
Fierce and determined above all
Pride's scream is heard across the plains
And through the heavy rains
Honor imposes his command
With inmutable power

And commanding them all
Is the Lord of Destiny
The one who will unite them all
And bring them all
And betray them all
That one whose power moves mountains
And makes the Sea tremble
Beyond the hazel shores

That one called LOVE....

Thanks for the feedback NP

I really loved tomorrow. It flowed and I love the meaning from each line to the next. It has a sense of sensitivity and feeling. Army of spirits reminds me of a scene from letters from iwo jima. It's a gorgeous poem that really makes me think about being in the heat of battle, what it would be really like.

^Thank you

Machine of freedom

It is time for our mistakes
To come down and haunt you
Reunions under the rain
Freedom for the brave ones

The Showdown of a lonely era
Forsaken from now own
Beyond invisible nightmares
Blind us with a new light

The past can only be a memory
Since we should walk towards the future
No regrets are left for our path
These thoughts are the one to make our day

The friends who have jumped in my car
And sung the songs of our lives
Glanced at snowy mountains
Surrounded by hot plains
The grass of our future
Runs next to our wheels

Tears can heal the moment
But peace of mind is what I seek
The people of my life can share stories
But my heart is the machine for freedom

Probably it doesn't fit with the current season but this is what I came out with today

White

Talk about trembling snowflakes
Who constantly froze my soul
Entangled in a cold darkness
Praying for a thick sweater

An skeleton called Jack once told me
That snow is a mysterious girl
With pale, soft and cold skin
Who gives light to winter landscapes

The Moon beneath those shadows
Sang a song of frozen sorrow
To the mysterious peasant in the mountain
One which talked about forgotten Chistmas
And liquid crystals in our pain

As I travel under the sunshine
Leaving behind all of my shadows
I will search for the white palace
where the little girl will awaits me

And I will sing to her
A forgotten song from the Moon

Anyway, I found it to be very dreamy. Don't know if that was what it meant to do, but that's what it sparked in me. biggrin.gif

Emotional oddity

I walked upon the shores
Commanding my army of witches
The gentle touch of night scent
Broke my car's engine

Illuminated for one second
They thought they could win
Our trust and tenderness
Turmoil of inner dessires

Yesterday I learned a new brand of emotions
And I drank them with ice
A steel smile can be a useful shield
Hiding a piercing spade

The Ocean will be below us
Guarding our airless steps
Whoever new in the daylight
Forsaken truth they hide to us

Confused brains are not allowed
In the paradise of sirens
I shall leave the castle
And leave my fears inside

Just ask, is so simple
We only want to be happy
Though sins are so promising
The bell will begin the pulse

This one became my second-to-favorite (my favorite still being Intense Pearl). Strong sentiment, and the ending was very satisfying (strange choice of words perhaps but upon reading it I though "Yeah, that's how it should end.").
Winner!

The dreamer's trip

Just a time upon the skies
Riding on steel birds
Bright blue oceans below us
A familiar plain landscape
On one of the ocean's side
A blinding green realm on the other

Just after our arrival
Smiling people were to receive us
Young souls shone across the freeways

Gardens, malls and porcelain horses
Just another face for the same story
They say we are a so different
Some have a kind of dream
Others have forgotten theirs

A trip reverse the future save for us
We will receive those foreigners
Here in our familiar landscape
The world is quite a small place
For people with big dreams

Maze of insubstantial thoughts

Denial in our young days
Such a waste of energy
A wall clock in an ancient room
That's what I don't want to hear

Ferocious shrieks in the dark
Come from an impatient imp
Allow me to introduce you
To the inhabitants of my personal
Maze of insubstantial thoughts

A path full of sand and teardrops
Leads to another far in the distance
Full of snow and blood
Of forgotten heroic travelers

Give me shelter for my nights
Give me smiles for my sorrows
Give advice for my doubts
And wait for me tomorrow
