One of your best so far! smile.gif
The ending is genius imo.

I agree about the ending comment. It sums up the need for coherence in his thoughts.

QUOTE(shyman @ Sep 10 2007, 04:52 AM) *

Maze of insubstantial thoughts

Denial in our young days
Such a waste of energy
A wall clock in an ancient room
That's what I don't want to hear

Ferocious shrieks in the dark
Come from an impatient imp
Allow me to introduce you
To the inhabitants of my personal
Maze of insubstantial thoughts

A path full of sand and teardrops
Leads to another far in the distance
Full of snow and blood
Of forgotten heroic travelers

Give me shelter for my nights
Give me smiles for my sorrows
Give advice for my doubts
And wait for me tomorrow

That's awesome!! Very talented!
I have some stuff I have written, but dunno if I am confortable posting it xD

I used to think so, but nobody's laughing at me, as far as I know.
I won't force you do to do something you feel uneasy about, but if you do post it I'll be happy to read it through. wink.gif

Maybe

A smooth sould full of understanding
A similar view of this strange thing called life
Maybe a sweet smile
Maybe two dreamy eyes
Capable of fantasy gazings

Maybe someone with her head on her shoulders
Or just built into coherence
Able of receiving tenderness
And wave and kiss in return

All of this is just a concept
A repeated and utopic tale
Put on a child when he was born
The heart of a man yearning for it

Calling out has never been of use
Searching always brings to wrong places
Where spoiled and cruel princesses
Play with the pride of the traveler

Maybe the smooth soul is hidden beneath a valley
Or she is singing to a silver sea
With her bare feet playing with the white sand
She might be waiting in a forgotten room
With a window to the night lights
Or walking in the forests, talking with the animals
She might be a silent reader in a library
Or a smiling waitress in an exotic restaurant
A peasant, a flower girl, a business woman

Maybe I'll never know
Or maybe not

This one has become my favourite so far. It is beautiful and leaves you thinking at the same time. I had to read it through multiple times. biggrin.gif

I've written a poem about Summer, other about Winter

Now autumn (or fall)

Next year

The return to the mundane loop of everyday
Fading sand and far away beaches remind to us
Leafs fall, colours fade and smiles greet the cold air
Our duties, forgotten for a sunny season
Will haunt us like merciless ghosts

And who am I to complain
About the inmutable cycle of life
I'm just another one who feeds him
Part of his meaning, brick of his house
No work, book or course
Won't be stranger for leisure

A boat in a forgotten sea
Will wait for us next year
An exotic smiling girl
Will fill our dreams next year
Ferocious, hot purple nights
Will flow through us next year

It's a great poem, quite melancholic.
To be perfectly honest I think you're making autumn sounds worse than it is. tongue.gif
It's my least favourite season though, so I don't complain.
*awaits a poem about spring*

Traditional stars

Traditional stars
Are always ready to amuse me
With their tunes and solos
With their harmonies and swings

They shone in two mighty decades
Followed by a crazy one
They all had long hair
And wore the strangest clothes

So sad their youth is so far away now
Some of them are even dead
They took a good step in history
And their legacy is what I reckon

The Kings' city

For sure I'm lost in a maze of boredom
Mixed with a mountain of stress
The pressure of the silly voices
And the commands of our generals
Keep ourselves in tension
Sometimes as well in dismay

My complaints are lost in a complex void
And my imaginary wisdom
Laughs with irony at my face
That's is not how I am supposed to behave

So I will march with my suit and my tie
To struggle to win a daily battle
I will come back hugged by the nights of Madrid
Nights who have been said to be
Full of Lust and Nightmares
Full of Lights and Species
But for me they are just a source of dreams

I was born in an unimportant deserted town
And flought to the Kings' city
Strange jungle it is, old lady of aristocratic history
Her charm appealed to me and talked to me
In spite of the deshumanizing chaos
Which puts my childhood mates in terror

ok, I am gonna post in your thread shyman tongue.gif

I found 2 of my old writings from a couple of years ago, but I will only post 1...don't laugh tongue.gif

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Faded
As I wander in the darkness of my soul
I hear in a distance some laughter
Leeringly I follow the laughter
As I come closer, a faint glow catches my eye
The astonishing beauty of this luminous, shimmering glow raises curiosity in me
The glow is so hypnotizing, my body begins to tingle all over
My eyes roll back
my body becomes motionless and left in a deep trance
The warmth from the rays project through my eyes
showing my deepest desires
plaguing my soul with pleasures
pleasures I can never feel again
Plaguing me with memories
memories of happiness, serenity, love
memories of pain, misery, and loathing
Memories of a loving soul that died years ago
As I stand there in my trance remembering
The warm glow seems to bring that old soul to life again
Long enough to remember happiness
Long enough to hear an angel
All the words that come from the angel
sound sincere and soothing and promising
but as I listen closer to the beautiful voice
I realize they are the spoken words of the dark angel once again
The dark angel serves his words sugar coated, meaningless, and empty
He is taunting me
calling me back
back to the comforts of the shadows and lies
Here I stand again, alone & hopeless with no desire and no need
Nobody to watch my heart
Nobody to watch my soul
Nobody to watch them blacken, wither and die
As I feel the last beatings
beatings of my heart slow
another warm glow is seen
This one so much farther than before
But maybe this is the one
the one to set me free
free as a bird flying through an oasis
an oasis that just fades away
Why should I bother
It will just fade away as all the others
It's time for this soul to fly back into the darkness
and time for my soul to do as I do and fade away
tell me what you think smile.gif
^ RB I remember why I can't find any of my stuff that I've written. It's cos I tossed it all out when I moved from my parent's house into my own apartment.. I didn't know where to keep all that extra stuff! Yeh I had boxes of it.. Hm. Should of held onto it tho, would have been interesting to see the things I jotted down when I was in shifty mood swings yeh. HAHA.
Well, I don't know why you were afraid of posting writings of yours. This was a very strong composition, with a very good mixture of despair, melancholy and hope. It is quite worthy and you should write more if you ask me
I haven't written anything lately, although I should, and it would be something completely different...diffenantly not dark like that one.
Well, that is the good thing about poetry, it gives you loads of freedom.
I will write more when I have the time
I agree with shyman, you should write more. smile.gif
The problem with long compositions that you should be careful not to lose inspiration halfway through, but you didn't seem to have that problem at all.
