OMG, Death Note is going to be aired on [Adult Swim]!!!

It's one of my favorite anime series. I'm happy that some of the people who are too lazy and for some weird reason don't like anime in their original version with subtitles can now see it on tv.

Since it's going to air on [AS], I suppose that means the anime will be dubbed... *Shivers.* English dubs suck in general in my opinion. Then again, it doesn't matter for me since I already saw the whole series. I'm going to watch some of it, though, just for fun.

What do you think about this?

Mm, I'll probably just watch some of the dubbed episodes once they're online. I don't watch many shows on t.v. anymore.

Well that's shame. I highly suggest this anime, unless you're not into anime in general.

OMG THANKS ALIKO!

I'm totally going to watch this. Though I agree I would've prefered it in its original state but ah well...I'll take dubbed.

I'll probably watch one or two episodes just to see how they dubbed it, but since I've seen this series there is no point for me watching more.

Well, you can watch the episodes in their original Japanese version with English subtitles. Just go to websites like YouTube or Veoh! XD

Er...

I already watched subbed, so I donīt think Iīll be watching it. It was surprising when I saw the cm, though.

Iīm still wishing for NANA to be aired on adult swim, but I know thatīs just my fanboy fantasies.

It's good they are putting out something this good on Adult Swim. Too bad it is dubbed though, anime are almost always better subbed. Only anime I watched dubbed was Yu Yu Hakusho.

Watching Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim got me into that so maybe this will increase the fan base.

I hate doing that though because the quality of the video is always so poor.
I just finished the manga like 10 minutes ago...twas brilliant.

I just watched it on adultswim.com.
I'm not sure if I really care for the guy who does Light's voice. I always heard him with a lower voice. And Ryuk's voice is not growly/rumbly as I would have liked.

Not too bad though.

Except I'm scared to hear L's voice. ohmy.gif

Just saw the first episode with English dubs on YouTube also. Here's the link: Death Note ep. 1

The voices weren't that bad. But so far I like all of the Japanese voices better than the English ones, except for Ryuk, like you PG.

On YouTube, the last part of ep. 1 didn't include the ending credits and I like the song and the animation, especially from 0:41 to 0:48. So here is the ending credits portion: Death Note ed. 1

I've already seen the whole series in Japanese, but I miss Death Note A LOT right now, so I'm probably going to watch the whole series with English dubs now for fun.

Oh, and like PG said, I guess you can also watch the episode on Adult Swim's website.

Well I actually didn't see the Japanese version. So I guess say that's how I always 'heard' them is wrong. I meant in my head when I was reading the manga. I always heard Light with a more manly voice, and Ryuk with a monster-ish voice.

Aliko-What episode does L come in?

Oh, well Light sounds less manly in the Japanese version, but it suits him very well in my opinion. Ryuk's voice is also good in the Japanese version, but I just like the English version a little better.

L doesn't actually "appear" until about ep. 6 I think.

GAH!!!!

I meant when do we see L. So we don't see him until episode 6? That's ridonkulous!

*Goes to cry*

Well, I don't necessarily mean 'manly' just more adult.

Yeah, I know, that's what I meant by "appear."

Well, Light is in high school. Years do pass in this series, so he does get older. Doubt they'll change his voice much, though. His seemed to of only changed a little in the Japanese version when he got older.

That kind of sucks. I'm sure I'll get used to his voice in time, though.

OMG THE SERIES WOULD BE CRAP WITHOUT L! WHY IS IT GONNA TAKE SO LONG TO SEE HIM?!?!

(Actually, I know the answer to that. Because he didn't "appear" until half-way through the second volume of the manga...but still xD)

I WANT L NOW!

Well, there's 37 episodes total, so you'll get a good portion of L. Even though he...

OH GOD!

I hate you Light! Even though technically it wasn't him...it's because of a series of events caused by him...

I still really wonder what L's real name is.
