^What about the 23 people in the US?

Are you just gonna say, 'tough luck' and let them die?

Over 50 years that would be 1150 people wrongly murdered by the government in the US alone.

@Steiner that was 23 people between 1900 and 1995 that were wrongly executed and that's only .24 people per year and I can live just fine with those numbers.

QUOTE(JudasOne @ Dec 6 2007, 05:22 PM) *

Well Fox it doesn't take much to see that it wasn't long ago that you were looking at pop-up books. I don't know what makes you think I believe in parole for convicted murderers; you obviously haven't read my posts very well. I think we should be giving them a limited amount of time for appeals and when that's up *BANG* done, game over and we dont have to worry about them walking the streets ever again. Maybe after you spend a few years in the real world you wont want your tax money going to supporting these kinds of people for the rest of their lives.

I never said you did believe in Parole. I said I didn't. I have read your posts well butyou cant understand what I'm saying in reply and getting it all backwards. Was I using over-complex language or something with words like "the"?

I'm sorry I don't usually get this worked up but I don't like being accused of being "simple" and "lazy" by someone who interprets everything I say as the opposite of what ia ctually said.

JUDASONE!!!

I AGREE with you that prisoners should never be given parole. I DISAGREE that they should be executed. Do you understand now? Parole, no. Executions, no. Life in Jail. I can't lift the little flap any higher than that am afriad.

Onto another one of your points: ".24 people a year".

If you lock murderers in jail for life, without parole, then they dont kill any mroe innocent people. So those ".24 innocent people" are dying unnecessarily each year. You're fine with it because to you they are just numbers, but to the people who are wrongly convicted and murdered it matters. To their families it matters. And they're dying pointlessly.

Which would you rather do: raise taxes a bit for more prison space to accomodate murderers, or kill an innocent person every four years to have the right to execute those murderers? Cause that's essentially the choice. If you choose the innocent person thing then, well..that's what those guys getting executed did as well. Remember?

My view is simple: Supporting the death penalty is hippocritical.

PS:Hey Steiner, good to see you on again. You understand what I'm talking about right?

Ehhh...sorry, didn't read that statistic right.

But still, for me, even one wrong conviction is terrible and unacceptable. Fox bassically just said my views.

Another thing about Capital Punishment is that it can do disturbing things to people. I watched a video of an executioner speaking to someone about his job, and the executioner was going on about how he was their conscience. He sounded as if he had been completely corrupted by power.

No it didn't. It was accused of shaping the killer. THe investigation showed no connection and I believe the killer didn't even OWN a copy of Manhunt.

i think that they should hang people or show them the electric chair because it will make people think before they kill someone.

^It really, really doesnt. The evidence shows that crime rates aren't affected by that sort of thing in a positive way. In fact, it makes the executed people matyrs. Its also disgustingly brutal.

i think they shud be killed like they killed other peopel...

...no...try as I might I cant force myself to hold a groundless, barbaric opinion. It's also amazing how some people will condemn others to death by supporting capital punishment whilst knowing diddly-squat about what they're supporting
