Is the Bible one Big Epic Fairytale? or a true story of various events that took place a long time ago? was Jesus the real deal, or an ordinary man preaching his own words? Is there a divine known as God among us? Or did we create him from our own minds?

When it comes to moral teaching, I don't think it matters if its fiction.

If your question was to me, all I could say is, I like the freedom to criticize.

I dont see how it could all be a fairy tail as the Ark is pretty much exactly where the bible said it would be.

pretty much, there are things I find skeptical within the bible, so there are somethings I can't accept, so my point of views can vary

I agree. I believe but I also believe the translated version of the bible i was raised and taught from is just the biggest example of a form of mass control. What better way to bend the public to follow rules than to tell them if they dont they'll burn in a lake of fire forever and the only way to salvation is to listen to a select few old white men, who also need 10% of your money.

but all in all the bible does have good moral outlooks that we all could abide by. I dont think it has any more clout than the koran or other similar works.

Well, you did start a topic saying the Bible is one big fairytale. rolleyes.gif I don't believe the Bible is fiction, but I also don't believe everything in it is the literal truth. Too many people seem to think that it's either one or the other, but there's just no way it can't be something in between.

Oh hey, someone's been watching movies and listening to retarded philosophy! Of course, everyone is just a blind servant of religion, and it has no good values in it, yet somehow it has helped people, and lasted thousands of years. Get a grip, the Bible isn't even written by "select few white men".

Yeah, i consider that since it is written by humans that there is going to be a lot of symbolism which may be exclusive to certain area's at certain periods.

A spiritualist? Yet that could still be considered a religion...

No, Agnostics believe in a higher power, they know we got here somehow, but do not believe in the mumbo jumbo the churches and the bible put out there. AFH said he believes in God....therefore, NOT agnostic...he is a searcher smile.gif

I am Agnostic, and I do not believe there is a GOD....but I do believe we didn't just pop outta no where.

I lean more towards science, but there are things that have happened that are unexplainable, or "miracles" as some call them...

As far as the bible goes...I dunno about it bein a fairy tale, but it is a book written by many people and by their POV's. On top of that...how many times has it been translated? How many words and meanings have been lost in translation? You simply can not put your faith into something like that, IMO anyway.
