But I believe it to be worth it if I may say so myself.
This is my poetry jubilee: this topic will contain the 100th poem I have ever written!
Don't bother counting to check, I've done that numerous times already. biggrin.gif

About the poem: I figured this special occasion called for a special poem so I made this longer (just look at the title and get discouraged) and I put somewhat more effort into it. Don't blame me if the content is still "same old" though! tongue.gif
Hope you enjoy it.

The Headless Tiger And The Lizard Eating Its Own Flesh

Love, or whatever it is refered to in this modern day and age
A cottage by a vast sea for 2 people to lock themselves in
Receiving applause from the seals who stranded at its shores
Redefined the system of "pursuit until capture"
Invincible though often accused of fighting dirty

A Holy Grail for the common knight
Until one duality could slay this mythos:
Romance is in truth a fortalice so assailable
Crumbles at the thought of lightning striking twice
Twice as in; the sum of two separate entities

One of the hemispheres in this fable is Catherine
She knew only 2 colours: black...and that other thing
A promiscuous wallflower with a taste of her own medicine
She drank her own tears as a poor woman's life elixir
From a spellbound chalice that abode to all misunderstanings
She was a dominatrix with no one to smother with her mercy:
Catherine Wheel needed someone

One of the hemispheres in this fable is Judas
A man who found a worthy companion in his own isolation
Or to put it in a somewhat different way:
A man who should've never been given the chance to love
But he wanted to be there for someone or not be there at all
A still nameless devotion was the firstborn in his empire:
Judas Chair needed someone to need him

They would surely give eachother the world
Even if it had to be cut out of the universe
In due time they'd be little less than a cosmos altogether
Shaping a citrus fruit benevolence and good intentions
Offering eachother the juice in a horn of plenty
And politely declining

Though she got angry every time he wasn't there or near
For every time she had to cherish the void again
Unreasonable is not a concept she care about
She knows only two states: absence and presence
For every time there is no one else to injure but herself

He is the coat that wards off every icicle lance
With a zipper stuck at face value, ripping crystal splinters
Never will his torso unveil one shameful scar
Judas Chair will pour the sand through the hourglass
But does so with the skinned silence he wears
The fissure into a treasure vault sewn tight
The fertility of this jungle undone

One day she was found nearly dead in the shower stall
OD'd on malfunctions in her liaisons
Judas checked her vital signs however
He did not attempt the oh so abusive kiss of life
To him perhaps the kiss of death
Merely held her stone-cold limb and pinched
He did not allow her to pinch back
Or do anything else that would make him happy
She just had to lie down and enjoy the session
Or else

Whirl and twirl along the not-so-merry-go-round
Across the exhibition of sad endings
Spin around and around, oh Catherine Wheel
Swirl around and imprison him within
Morph into the feared endlessness
And make fleeting images of them all
She only belonged to a single stasis
And not a cell in her body wanted to leave
Only everything else she had wanted him to stop
Tossing and turning until every bone is bare and broken
With no more meat to offer but the leftovers

Fury, sadness, happiness fear, despair, hope
Envy, guilt, embarassment, acceptance, awe
Guilt, kindness, relief, suspense, modesty
Schadenfreude, mercy, hunger, love
Catherine Wheel would need someone again
Judas Chair needed someone to need him again

They would give eachother the world, no doubt
But there is only one world to give away, if any
Their symbiosis had turned into a survival of the sweetest
The better weakling will eventually drop the saber
And reluctantly allow their vows to be devoured
Interesting and disturbing is this bizarre dichotomy
Whose meaning of love consists of not killing eachother
And while by definition only grazed
This gaping wound kisses all vales to drought

Well, this one is the most complex and sophisticated work I've read from you in some time, and that is a thing to say, since almost all of your poems are extremely solid.

Good storytelling as well smile.gif

Whoa... pretty heavy stuff (That´s a + in my book)

Is it like an epic?
Because it made me feel like it is so.

QUOTE

Not quite. There's nothing really heroic or legendary about it.
It's just a poem about two people who "love eachother too much".
The defeat of love, by love.

Thanks for the comments, everyone! smile.gif
They're greatly appreciated!
