Thanks, X-Master, this helps a lot.

I sure hope the rumble feature will be included in the controller. I love the rumble feature, it immerses me into the game. Most likely, I will never use the motion sensing technology. It is too hard to understand and looks hard to use, too.

Supposedly, Sony won the lawsuit with the rumble feature or something like that. Or, Sony paid the people who came up with it.

And, the 20GB version is not a Retard Version. Anything Playstation 3 should be said with GOLD letters, nothing so punning as Retard. smile.gif Just my opinion, coming from a huge Sony fan.

I will definately get the 60GB version, although I will have to save up a long time for it. I don't want to be losing anything in my gaming experience. I wouldn't even dare think I would get a lesser Playstation 3, and regret not getting the 60GB version.

I also heard that EB Games and GameStop are holding off Pre-Ordering, until September. This in turn, will make the Playstation 3 have a greater chance of not having a reduced level of Playstation 3 shortages come launch time. Which is a good thing, indeed. Xbox 360 had shortages, so many people didn't like that.

Marketing strategy is what Sony has good going for them this time. Yes, indeed.

I also like the triggers on the controller. Those are so awesome. Plus, the Playstation button on the controller will be a home/on/off button. Which is ultra super duper sweet. smile.gif

Ah, I am in love. smile.gif

Some good news about the controller, possibly:

QUOTE
In a recent interview with Gamasutra, Victor Viegas, president of Immersion, voiced his opinions about Sony's new controller. In the article, he stated that the vibration interfering with the gyroscopic funtions was fixable.

If what theyre saying is in fact the reason why [the controller will not have vibration], Ive offered them numerous solutions to the problem. I dont believe its a very difficult problem to solve, and Immersion has experts that would be happy to solve that problem for them.

Victor then talked about what his employees thought of the controller, from a gamers point of view.

We had a lot of employees on the floor at E3, and many of them got to get their hands on the [PlayStation 3] controller, Viegas said. They say it felt light, that it felt cheap and flimsy, and that it lacked weight or substance. Overall, they were disappointed.

Numerous developers have stated that they only knew about the controller changes the day it was announced. WarHawk's developers have gone on record to say that they knew about the controller changes only two weeks before E3.

The possibility of including vibration technology in the PlayStation 3 controller is looking grim now, but the option is still available on Sony's part.

from PS3Land

So, we might actually get rumble in the controller, if Sony decides to implement it.

Seriously, I wouldn't like my thread to be messed up and confuse people all over again. The point of this thread is to be simple, its not a thread where you post all Ps3 news.

By the way, the thing you posted is OLD. Immersion are basically money hungry fuckers and Sony basically said "you can take the rumble and fuck yourself up in your ass".

Immersion: "Sony....Sony..you... here...we..we...need the...money... Sony...".

Sony: "Shut the fuck up".

Immersion am cry. Damn babies.

They are crying because Sony neglected them.

Sony will still have rumble but not because of this bastards.

Simple businees. Sony is not forking out the money. They will find another way.

QUOTE
soon the PS4 will be out

If you're going to wait that long, you might as well wait for the Ps4.

Heads up dude, lets say if Sony came out on top this generation again and with at least 40+ million lead Worldwide on both their competitors, that will raise the bar for the next-generation consoles prices and you can expect Ps4 and Xbox720 to be around $650 to $700.

I suggest you stop bitching and just start thinking about getting a job unless if you're too young then you can always wait it out till you get older and get a job.

Lol, I just remembed. When the PS2 came out, it sold out really fast, and people started selling them over Ebay for more then $1000. The PS3 is no doubt going to sell out if thats how much people are willing to pay.

I think it will only take a month or two for the PS3 to be well ahead of the 360 in sales.

$1000 AU?!?

That news was an inch away from making me cry. Now I know there's no way in hell I'll stand a chance of getting a PS3 until perhaps another two-four years. I can't even get a job anywhere around here. There's no demmand whatsoever for kids who just turned 14.

My parents would never let me buy a game console for 1000 dollars, no matter how revolutionary it is...

Dont fret man. I didn't get a PS2 until 2003. The price for a PS2 in Australia at the beginning was like $750, and I was 13 at the time of it's launch. So I could only dream of getting it (no way my parent's were going to buy it). Maybe if you wait some time (say...6 months) and save up some money, the PS3 should reduce in price, and you may be able to get a package. And through this way, you will buy a cheaper package, AND have awesome games. Also, the PS3 you get after 6 months will usually be bug-free.

Luckily, now that I am old enough, and have been working casual hours in a job for 2-3 years, I have a somewhat decent amount of money to get one. But, my 2 brother's (who also have jobs) and I will split the pay for the premium version 3-way, so it will come to around $330 each. I am in a far more fortunate position to buy the PS3 than when I bought the PS2.

BTW - Thanks for summing up the PS3 stuff X-Master. It's a lot more convenient for the average person to visit this topic, rather than peruse around the forum through 10 or so PS3 topics

Nicely done X-Master. Just learned that the PS3 will be more expensive for Europeans from gamespot, perhaps that should be mentioned since there are so many Europeans in here.

Sony can't put rumble and motion sensing together, eh?

Read this:

QUOTE
Information has surfaced about a third party controller that utilizes all the technology found in the PS3 controller, and the force feedback rumble technology licensed by Immersion.

Couldn't utilize rumble because of interference? We look forward to hear what Ken Kutaragi has to say about this little creation.

IPB Image

Featuring a robust 12 button analog configuration, the G-Pad Pro adds intuitive and precise motion sensing technology to improve gameplay performance in virtually any genre of gaming. Rotate the controller on multiple axes to gain four additional control options in three dimensional space. The result is advanced new movement functions and a smoother, more dynamic ability to control in-game action. Additionally, users may experience decreased hand fatigue compared to standard keyboards or controllers.

The VRMS programmable driver allows users to set, save, and load custom settings on your PC, or adjust control sensitivity with the touch of a button on your PS2. Gamers can combine the control options of a mouse, keyboard, joystick and more onto a single multi-functional controller. Use the G-Pad Pro like a racing wheel or flight yoke, or sit back and put all of your input devices at your fingertips with added realism and precision. The G-Pad Pro also features dual-motor force feedback technology officially licensed from Immersion.

from PS3land

And for the European Gamers:

QUOTE
EuroGamer is reporting that the 20GB version of the PS3 may not come to the United Kingdom.

The information supporting this claim came from Gamestation's customer services, a well known video game retailer in the UK. When questioned about the 60GB being the only available PS3 for launch they responded, " It's our understanding that the 20GB version won't be released in the UK - at least not at the same time as the 60GB one."

Sony further declined clarification on the subject stating: "We are still in planning and no further announcements have been made." Also Sony gave an offical statement saying, "Following our announcements at E3, all sales teams are currently liasing with retailers/buyers to discuss projections and consumer demands for both the 20GB/60GB configurations of the PlayStation 3."

We'll keep you up to date on any developments.

Update by Ian Stanfield on May 20th:
In rather predictable twist, it appears as though the UK will only have the option of purchasing the $600 version of the PS3. SCEE boss Ray Maguire recently spoke with MCV about Sony's pricing strategy in the UK. Ray told MCV that the $500 version lacked features that would sell the PS3 in Europe.

"The lower-end 20Gb version of PlayStation 3 has no wi-fi, no HDMI and none of the other slots in it, so its really a question of where we would position it. Its more likely that we will only launch the 60Gb version," said Maguire.

"We have time to watch the yen and be flexible, but that 60Gb version looks like 425 in the UK at the moment. High trade margins in the UK are likely to see it come in with that kind of street price, though its ultimately up to retailers."

LOL, I was just kidding! But for real I do have like $3000 dollars saved up! I've been saving up for a long time working legal jobs. I'm not much of a spender. It's just gonna hurt to buy the PS3 after all that hard work I've done! Oh well. I'll stop bitching. It'll make SEX-Master stop bitching about me bitching about the price.

Wow... free internet... that kicks some major ass...

The PS3 is gonna rock. I mean, people say its expensive, BUT IT'S NOT!!! THE-P-S-3-IS-FUCK-ING-CHEAP!!!!!

You get so goddamn much on this console (and I think the lack of 20GB in the UK is a good thing... we don;t have to worry about "Hmm...this is cheaper but has less stuff..." we just go out and buy the console like we did with the PS2!) and for a fraction of the price it would normally cost you. To get a PS3 with stand alone features would cost you up to 1000 more than what the PS3 is costing, it is an absolute bargain!

This is like seeing a top quality mercedes on sale for 2000. Would you say "oh I'm not buying that its soo overpriced" or would you say "OMG A TOP CLASS MERCEDES FOR 2000 WHAT AN UTTER BARGAIN!!!!!"

I've been saving for a good year now, and have over 500 in the bank...with luck I'll get an HDTV early 2007 as well! That'd rock! biggrin.gif
